Weston A. Price Foundation

The Foundation is dedicated to restoring nutrient-dense foods to the American diet through education, research and activism and supports a number of movements that contribute to this objective including accurate nutrition instruction, organic and biodynamic farming, pasture-feeding of livestock, community-supported farms, honest and informative labeling, prepared parenting and nurturing therapies. There are many chapters of the WAPF in the Bay Area as well as all over the country. Think about joining up and becoming part of this growing food movement, bringing back food to the way it was meant to be.

"I have been a patient of Shelley Lane’s for over ten years. Shelley has successfully treated me over the years for many ailments including high blood pressure, stress, neck and shoulder pain, stomach discomfort, sleeping issues and much more. Shelley takes the time to listen to me and she really gets involved with her patients on a compassionate level. Shelley has helped me tremendously with reaching my goal of a healthy and balanced life."

Steve Scott, Los Olivos, CA.

"My husband and I have known Shelley Lane since she was a student of Acupuncture. Little did we know we would be using her skills in our latter years and be so grateful for them. Her dedication, her compassion and knowledge have helped us recover from many of the ailments that seem to come with age. We rely on her to keep us healthy and in good spirits. What would we do without her?"

Pauline and Brian Coleman, Santa Barbara, CA.

"I have been going to see Shelley Lane, OMD, L Ac, NTP, for almost a year now and I must tell you that she is much more than my acupuncturist. I always feel lighthearted after leaving a session. Not to mention a calmness that seems to encircle me. Weird feeling, but a good feeling.

I don’t always follow her advice on my food choices, but neither of us have given up trying; Ms Shelley by stressing the goodness of eating properly, and me by trying.

At first, I was skeptical about acupuncture, but it works, I mean it really works. I go in with a pain, it is usually gone by the end of the session. Not sure how it works, but I am grateful it does. And she always asks, “How are you doing?” during the session. She is such a gentle person and it comes through in her work.

I don’t believe I have ever left a session without a smile on my face. I would highly and undoubtedly recommend Ms Shelley as the only acupuncturist/nutritionist to go to. I am so lucky to have found her."

Betty Moore, Lompoc, CA.

"Shelley H. Lane, OMD was originally recommended to me by a friend. I have seen Dr. Lane for multiple visits. I have recommended her to others. Dr. Lane’s help was needed for an old major rib injury a result of a horse accident. I also required a nutritional evaluation and guidance.

The acupuncture treatment Dr. Lane has administers reduces my daily painful muscle spasms. The spasms are infrequent, less painful. Dr. Lane has corrected several of my mineral deficiencies, provided quality resources and education in natural healing methods and healthy nutritional diet and habits. I use the methods, changed habits and increased protein and minerals into my diet. I have more energy and feel better. I highly recommend to anyone seeking better health and natural nutrition and/or pain relief to obtain Dr. Lane’s advice and treatment." Louise A. Harding, Los Alamos, CA.

"I have worked with Shelley Lane for many years, and we have had a large number of patients in common.  I have found her to be an excellent acupuncturist and clinician.  She has a very good understanding of health and wellness from multiple perspectives.

We had one remarkable case of a 40-year-old woman with a rash on her hand.  I had given her creams, gels, and steroids, which helped, but it came back.  I had also tried to find food sources for the rash, which didn’t seem to help.  In the meantime, she saw Shelley who told her that the location of the rash indicated a colon problem (in Chinese Medicine), and suggested she see a gastroenterologist.  The woman had a colonoscopy and an early colon cancer was found and completely removed.  Within days, the rash on her hand disappeared, and never returned.  (PS: she also remains cancer-free).

I feel fortunate to have been able to work with Shelley."

Dr Lane has provided me with a proper diet for my gastro-intestinal issues which have greatly improved under her care. I thought I could never eat a gluten and dairy-free diet but with her scientific explanations, her guidance and recipes, I continued to be motivated to heal myself. Being an acupuncturist, Dr. Lane learned that food is medicine and my healing definitely demonstrates that. Dr. Lane is caring, patient and understanding, definitely a healer.
